From 2000 to 2009 Sam Saturday wrote, drew and published comics under the Load World Comics banner.
LWC’s flagship work was the long-running comic strip “Load.” What started out as a random absurdist strip eventually turned into a comic solely focused on finding humor in sex and relationships. Load was run in a number of independent publications, both in print and online. Many of the best Load comics were collected in the book “Why Do You Cry When I’m On Top?” It is available for order from Amazon.com.

Another major work from Load World Comics was the three-issue comic book series “Pope & Pig.” Published in early 2004, the comic starred two major characters from the Load strip, Pope & Pig, and followed their comic sexual adventures. These books were only sold at various comic book conventions over a period of a few years. Sam still owns a limited stock of the books, although they are not currently available for sale.
Other work from LWC included “Tongue In Cheek,” a two-volume series of fully-illustrated humorous sex poetry; “Wasteland Rhymes,” a series of darkly-comic illustrated limericks in the styles of Edward Gorey and Edward Lear; “Sex Kittens,” a book of nude anthropomorphic cat and bunny-women; as well as artwork for various gallery shows.
